Hector compilation celebrates 10 years of BPM Festival

The Mexican maestro was chosen for the festival's milestone anniversary release.

From grafting at London's Phonica Records and earning a rep as the go-to guy for touring DJs in need of something fresh, to becoming an international name in his own right, Hector has come a mighty long way. In his native Mexico, The BPM Festival has also edged forward and 2017 will be its 10th anniversary in Playa del Carmen.

Hector's getting right behind celebrating this milestone for the 10-day dance event with the release of his very own compilation album, X: 10 Years of The BPM Festival. It's the second album of its kind to be officially released by the festival itself, and this special edition features key players from its decade-long history, including Hector himself, Carl Cox, Dubfire, Jamie Jones, Josh Wink, Nicole Moudaber and The Martinez Brothers. The 17-track collection also features four exclusive tracks.

Hector had this to say post release date: “I feel extremely honoured to have compiled and mixed ‘X' to celebrate 10 years of The BPM Festival. Featuring exclusives and classics from artists close to the festival's heart, this compilation will raise money for local charities to thank the community for playing host to one of the world's best festivals for a decade.”

All profits from the release will be donated to local charities as a thank you to the local community for hosting The BPM Festival. Grab your CD copies on 6 January and you can also bag it digitally via Beatport on 14 January. Limited edition copies will be available in Playa del Carmen at Spinny Grooves, where Hector will be signing copies for a special release party on 13 January between 5-9 PM.

And if you're gagging to hear good music in a sun-fuelled paradise, you can still grab your BPM tickets here.
