Dizzying limestone cliffs, gin-clear waters and red-gold beaches have been the live bait let loose to lure holidaymakers to the majestically magic Malta. But, the small archipelago that's grabbing attention as the new party paradise is now giving you more steam for a stop-off as it kicks off the summer season with music festival Groovefest.
The festival, pitched as the ultimate music holiday, has gained some serious kudos amongst the sun seeking, music savvy pack since its first descent to Dominican Republic shores in 2012. Some five thousand miles to a new home in the Mediterranean Sea and its protocol is sticking to a formula of beat-led escapism. Over the first bank holiday of May, from April 29th to May 1st, the biggest names to buttress the house and techno scene will be taking to Malta's beachside superclub Café Del Mar and outdoor clubbing mecca Gianpula. Art Department, Jamie Jones, Route 94 and Andrea Olivia are the artists just released to a line-up that was already muscle heavy with names including Kerri Chandler, Apollonia, Kölsch, Hot Since 82, Matthias Tanzmann, Sam Divine, Guti, Detroit Swindle and David Squillace.
Groovefest is offering flights and packages with travel partners The Holiday Place, giving you the option to book in for a stellar weekend or opt for an extended stay to explore the island and most obviously, recuperate.
