In line with much of Europe, Ibiza will revert to a higher state of alert on Thursday 7 January, in order to fend off the relentless march of the coronavirus. Cases have continued to rise here - the incidence more than doubling over recent weeks, although the number of fatalities remains mercifully low.
Officially, Ibiza and Formentera revert back to Level 3 (High Risk Situation) until 26 January but with extra added restrictions. The night-time curfew has been extended to 22:00 to 06:00 again and the inside of bars and restaurants will have to close, with 75% of outside terrace space remaining open. Lockdown level 3.5!
