Food from Ibiza’s land and sea this weekend

Two days of tapas, food workshops and show cooking with a festive and sustainable flavour are set to tickle those taste buds.

This Saturday 1 December starts two days of the annual event that celebrates the gastronomy of Ibiza with local products from the land and the sea. Yes, it's time for Fira Sabors del Camp i de la Mar.

Taking place at the Recinto Ferial convention centre just outside Ibiza Town, this edition will showcase festive food in time for Christmas and aims to offer sustainable choices.

Admission is free with the event taking place on Saturday from 11:00 to 23:00 and on Sunday from 11:00 to 18:00.

The event celebrates star Ibizan ingredients, such as pork, lamb, sobrasada sausage, fish, peas, red potatoes, almonds, Ibizan wines and Ibizan herbs.

In support of the environment, the event will use only biodegradable cutlery in support of the “Ibiza without plastic” initiative.

Great value 0 km tapas at just €3 each will tempt all - plus fans of cooking will love the culinary workshops for adults and children.

All workshops are priced individually and include how to make traditional Ibizan fare, such as a festive version of the mixed-meat stew sofrit pagés and a salsa de Nadal, a special Christmas sauce.

A raft of free show cooking segments will fill both days with Anne Sijmonbersgen, author of the cookbook, Eivissa, tastes of Ibiza; a demonstration of pastry making using locally-produced carob and a session on how to make fermented foods and much more.

Jazz music from the Musicaires Swing Band will add a cheerful ambient soundtrack to the event, so it's not just food and drink.

Get yourselves along to a fabulous foodie fair this weekend and tickle those taste buds.
