World Clean Up Day 2018 takes place this Saturday 15 September 2018 with various waste removal projects across Ibiza

The day will tackle waste on the island with people joining in with volunteers from 150 countries worldwide, representing the biggest civic action ever.

To help keep Ibiza beautiful, volunteer for one of the cleaning projects being organised across the island. There are several projects anyone can join in on.

IBIZA

Town halls

Turn up at 10:00 on the day at the town hall of either Ibiza Town, San Antonio, Playa d'en Bossa, Santa Eulalia or San José. The teams will then move onto the nearest respective beach or port to commence the clean-up. Finish time will be late afternoon and more information is on the project's event page.

Southern coast: Las Salinas

From 10:00 at Las Salinas beach, join in with the La Bella Verde crew to clean up this beach in the south of the island and the coastline along from here. With a fleet of solar-powered catamarans, protecting nature is a big part of what these people do. Help them to do more.

South coast: Playa d'en Bossa

Playa d'en Bossa, Ibiza's biggest and most popular beach will be given the clean treatment by Walking Ibiza at 10:00 from Coco Beach. Please take along your own collecting bags for this two and a half hour waste removal initiative.

East coast: Santa Eulalia to Es Caná

Love Ibiza Now is also cleaning up a big stretch of coast starting in Santa Eulalia from 10:30 at Ses Savines restaurant next to the Palacio de Congresos. Join in with this great supporter of Ibiza's environment.

FORMENTERA

Aquabus has offered to take all volunteers across to the island of Espalmador for free. The ferry leaves from Playa d'en Bossa at 11:30 am and returns at 17:15 pm. Their biologist will be joining the group to clean the sands and waters around this beautiful island. Find full details on departure point here.

If you are unable to donate your time on Saturday, then between now and then if you spot any areas with dumped waste download the World Clean Up Day App to your phone and map the area. This will help in the entire cleaning project.

For Ibiza, World Clean Up Day can really help in creating visibility of the issue of waste with both islanders and visitors.

Ibiza is paradise, so let's all get together and help to protect it!
