The cool, chilled Figueretas beach

Featured Ibiza beach.

Where and what?

Right next to Ibiza Town is 100 metres of sandy beach serving the cool and funky resort of Figueretas. There's a lovely long palm-lined promenade to parade along and here, there are all kinds of things to do and plenty nearby.

Why go?

It's right next to lots of hotels and apartments so this is very convenient if you are staying here, since it's your local sandy shore. It's close to Ibiza Town, so if you are lodging there, you are only a short walk away. There are breathtaking sea views, little islets to gaze at and the sunsets here are just magical. If you feel you want to turn up the volume, you can walk to Playa d'en Bossa by following the bay. You will see a lot of families here and the beach also attracts a big number of gay people too, with the first part of the beach (nearer Ibiza Town) being the main hangout.

Things to do

There are lots of bars, café's and restaurants – many of them are quite reasonably-priced. The restaurant Soleado seats you right next to the sea to take in the hugely romantic views. There are lots of shops and there are craft stalls lining the promenade. This walkway gets very busy as night falls when the party boats come back in and the tourists staying here head for dinner. There are boat trips to other parts of the island from here or you can hire kayaks, pedaloes or banana boats for some fun on the sea. You can also take a ferry to the nudist beach Es Cavallet, which is where the main gay beach of the island is too.

How to get there

Either on foot from where you are staying in Figueretas or a 15-miniute walk from Ibiza Town. Parking here in summer can be difficult, so you might want to try reaching it on foot or in a taxi.
