5 of the best - Ibiza this weekend

It's all happening this weekend in Ibiza. Get the low-down right here!.

At this time of year, Ibiza generally begins to wind down. But honestly, when we sat down today and looked at the bedazzling array of cool events in Ibiza this coming weekend, we wondered whether anyone had actually realized it's late season already! Being unable to decide which of the options was the best (they're all brilliant) we decided to cover 5 of the most epic. Leaving you, unfortunately dear reader, with some very difficult decisions...

So, allow us to present our humble overview of some of the best places to eat, drink, dance and be merry on our favourite paradise island this glorious, sunny October weekend. Just when you thought the season was over...

Friday fabulousness

Perfect for daytime fun aficionados is undoubtedly Santa Eulalia's Babylon Beach Bar this Friday, October 17th. Quite aside from the fact that Babylon is just oozing cool with its gorgeous beach beds, beautiful organic veggies, homemade, gluten-free bread, crazy kayaks and cocktails to die for. They're also joined by Pacha's funky room residents from 3pm for a soulful afternoon of deliciousness.

Later on, just a hop, skip and jump up the road to increasingly stylish and happening Santa Eulalia, head over to Guarana, for Uhm where you'll find Ibiza resident and queen of the decks Dj Skweez, faithfully wringing out every drop of decadent dance-juice that has ever been seen flowing from a record deck. She'll be joined by Nathan, teasing out some surprisingly twisted live sounds from his sonic bag of goodies until around 6am. He's one half of talented Dutch duo, Loop Alley. We can only hope the gorgeously talented other half, Libbie will put in an appearance too with her edgy electro-effects and striking live vocals.

Saturday sumptuousness

For daytime magnificence, there is only one place to be this Saturday, October 18th and that's down at Amante for their legendary annual closing party. Head down there for 3pm, where extra parking has been laid on for the adoring Ibiza crowd who will be showing up in droves. Simply the most gorgeous location imaginable with cuisine and live DJs to match, this one is very ‘A list' dear reader, so crack out the glad rags and live the life!

Later on, head over to San Antonio's Port des Torrent, where you'll find the super friendly crew at Imagine beach bar into their second day of closing celebrations. If you're into your Balearic house, then head down there on Friday at midday. If you prefer a psychedelic vibe and have a penchant for tie-dyed clothing, then Saturday's your day for an absolute trance-fest. Sunday is dedicated to World Music and is the grand closing. Expect after-parties galore, a packed-out, friendly beach and don't even attempt it unless your Monday is completely free! For a map of the location just click here.

If that isn't enough, then Boutique Hostal Salinas are hosting an extremely tasty soiree in collaboration with celebrated resident Ibiza chef, Sid Shanti which, in a moment of clear genius, they have christened Skank around Jump Up n Down Party. That, alone, is good enough for us! But no, there's also a Funktion One soundsystem, Andy Baxter and Jo Mills on the decks to name only two, a free soup kitchen and non-stop party funk for the discerning fun lovin' punk. Oh YES! Kicking off at 10pm, expect a scandalously late finish, ladies and gents.

Sunday sins

If you've done only half of this, by Sunday, October 19th you'll be ready for a rollocking good feed. Bringing a whole new meaning to the phrase ‘Sunday Service,' this Sunday brings the return of super chefs Lawrence Otterburn, Sous Chef to Gordon Ramsay and Marco Pierre White and Simon Johnson, owner of Cook Ibiza.

Catch the gentlemen and their very impressive Sunday lunch down at Santa Eulalia's lovingly renovated boutique hotel, Cas Catala, located at the bottom of the hill that leads to the ancient church of Puig den Misses. The chicken is free-range, there's a vegetarian option and those boys are passionate about their local, organic food. Expect a traditional Sunday lunch with some inventive twists that tip a nod to local Ibicenco produce and cuisine. One of our fav funky DJs and cutting-edge street artist Chapter will be there spinning top tunes too and the kids, of course, are more than welcome. Oh, and Payesa Ibiza will be there splashing around liberal amounts of their cool, golden beery nectar. Needless to say, we're there...
