Tomorrow Saturday 14 November sees the return of dance company Sol Pico to Ibiza to present its show, One-Hit-Wonders at the prestigious Palacio de Congresos in Santa Eulalia.
Starting at 9pm, the show features a compilation of iconic pieces taken from the career of the choreographer and dancer Sol Pico, to celebrate his 20-year-long artistic career. This anniversary show marks a reflective moment of the many performances over his lifetime.
The show will include a variety of pieces most notably from popular works such as pieces from D.V.A. (Dudoso valor artístico) from 1999; Bésame el cactus from 2000; Paella Mixta from 2004; the Llac de les Mosques of 2009 and also Memòries d'una puca from 2012.
Sol Picó first founded his company in Barcelona in 1994 and during his long career has garnered many awards for his interpretative dance performances. Awards include the Premio Max de las Artes Escénicas for the Best Female Dance Show (Bésame el cactus) in 2002 and 2003 followed by awards in 2005 for Best Show and Best Choreography (Paella Mixta); the Premio Nacional de Danza de la Generalitat de Catalunya (Llac de les Mosques) in 2004 and many more.
Tickets cost €20 and can be purchased ahead of the event in various places, which include Holidays in Santa Eulalia, Holy Sport in Ibiza Town and the Centro Cultural de Jesús. If you don't manage to get tickets ahead of time you can get them from the venue two hours ahead of the performance for €22.
