Hed Kandi

Filling the Saturday night slot at Es Paradis with glitz, glamour and funk will be Hed Kandi. The venue is the beautiful indoor garden club of Es Paradis, right on the water front in San Antonio, just along from the Egg Roundabout. Inside is a complete paradise and one of the more beautiful venues on Ibiza, you'll find vines, Greek columns, hidden corners and The Lovely Laura on Saxaphone swining from the roof. Very nice.

Hed Kandi are recruiting for two positions currently - a Stage Manager and a PR/Street Team Manager.

The Stage Manager's role will be liase with artists and staff on the night of the party, ensuring the club is ready before everything starts, and dealing with any issues that may arise throughout the night. The PR/Street Team Manager will be in charge of the PR team for Hed Kandi, helping to promote Hed Kandi's activites on the island and make ticket sales on the street. You will be the face of Hed Kandi to the people, essentially. Full details on the position can be found via the link.

Gatecrasher

The newest club on the block is recruiting ahead of their debut Ibiza season. The big news so far this year was that Eden was being taken over by Gatecrasher with a full summer programme soon to be announced - a much needed boost to the San Antonio club scene with Eden not quite reaching its potentially over the last few years, despite being bought and rennovated by a Dutch collective in 2013.

The Gatecrasher team are looking for you, dynamic people to join their team of bar staff, PR staff and VIP hostesses.

To apple, send your CV and a recent photo to ibizarecruitment@gatecrasher.co.uk

Cirque De La Nuit

These guys run some of the best boat parties on the island, with a quality afterparty to boot. The team has been together in one way or another for around 10 years on the island now, so they know what they are doing. We went along to one of their parties last year and we loved it!

They are currently recruiting for the 2014 season, with job roles including event and party promotion, catering, office administration and guest/artist support.

Blue Marlin

Based in the Cala Jondal Bay, on the southern coast of Ibiza, this beach bar is a hotspot for the rich, famous or simply just glamorous - certainly one of the coolest bars on the island in a beautiful setting with nothing but music, open skies and direct access to the beach to enjoy.

Ahead of the 2014 season, Blue Marlin are searching for dancers, hostesses and PR staff to join their team. Full details via the link.

Highlander

Ah the Highlander. A visit here is essential if you're a part of the San An massive - a place to enjoy a proper Scottish welcome and get wasted, fill your face with food or sing some truly awful - but amusing - karaoke.

This year, they are looking for a new cook to take over. You must have three years of experience, but as a reward you will get a place to sleep and a contract for the summer if your trial goes well.

The Shop Ibiza

Probably not a company many of you are familiar with, but if you've been to some of the cooler parties and venues on the island, such as last years Amante Beach Club and the International Music Summit parties at dalt Vila, then you will have experience the true package for what they offer. We're talking unrivalled sound and lighting design for any occasion, and being based on the island itself, they know what they are doing.

They are looking for a new A/V technician to join their company to aid with setup and maintenance of the evast amount of equipment they operate. The position is based on Ibiza for the season, but if things goes well they would offer a full time postioin to support their expanding winter work schedule.

Full details on this excellent opportunity cna be found via the link.

Ibiza Spotlight Forums

Our very own Spotlight Forums are an invaluable source of information on all things Ibiza, and beyond. Much asked questions such as “how much spends will I need”, “how much are taxis”, “what are the best hotels/beaches/bars/clubs” and so on, will all have answers already. But if there are any questions you need an answer to, the forums are your best chance of having them seen to.

We have a specific Ibiza Worker section, where you can find useful information on what you will need to work (legally) on the island, hints tips and general advice. You will also find that companies and individuals post jobs for the year on these pages, so it is worth checking back regularly.

Advice

Get to Ibiza early - positions go fast. We're talking April or latest May.

Apply for your NIE at the main Police Station in Ibiza Town (near McDonalds) as soon as you can.

Bring printed CVs, photos and a copy of your NIE to every interview. Have extra copies ready.

Don't flog your heart out for a ticket selling company on the basis of promises. Be wise in your choice of work otherwise you will spend all day working with barely anything to show for it.

If you choose to come to the island mid or even late season, be aware that many positions come available as people run out of money, become tired of the lifestyle, or simply get lost on their way home from the club.

Sell yourself - they are looking for hard working, happy, creative people to help sell and promote their brand/product. Do well and it could be a foot in the door to a career or life on the island, long term.

Warning

There are many illegal ways of working on the island, none of which we recommend of course. We welcome people from all walks of life to our beautiful island, but you must respect the rules, regulations and laws as if it was your own country. The island survives predominantly off tourism revenue for a relatively short period of time during the year. Respect the island, the people and contribute to the growth and future of Ibiza and you will be welcomed back. Disrespect any of this, and we will be waiting at the airport with a stern look of disapproval on our faces and a 'no entry sign'. You don't want us to be disappointed in you now, do you?
