The fabulous Medieval Festival which takes place in Ibiza town's Dalt Vila and surrounding streets takes place for an extra day this year starting on Thursday 10th May until Sunday 13th.
A celebration of the merry old medieval times, it's a combination of middle ages market place, craft workshop and entertainment centre which was originally inaugurated in 1999 to mark the granting of World Heritage Status to Ibiza.
Since then the MeFe has grown in size and stature with more and more traders and entertainers taking part and visitor numbers reaching 6 figures over its duration.
The council made stringent regulations to ensure that the medieval theme is as genuine as possible and many would be market traders had their applications to sell goods turned down as they were considered historically unsuitable!
The streets will however be packed with stalls selling leather goods, soaps, spices, herbs, baskets, jewellery and so on, whilst craftsmen show off their skills and tools of the trade throughout the old town.
Throughout the day and evening there will be shows, performances, strolling musicians, singing, dancing, maybe the odd snake charmer, food and drink aplenty and guaranteed fun for young and old, with the vast majority of the performers travelling from the mainland where they take part in such festivals throughout the year.
