As part of San Antonio's San Bartolome fiesta there's a great exhibition of paintings called Arab Baths at the Sa Punta des Moli (the windmill by the Hawaii Hotel) Cultural Centre.
The paintings are the work of Granada born artist, Jesús Camargo, now based in Mallorca, and show the architecture and magic of the baths. Inspired by the Arab Baths in Palma de Mallorca, the 13 paintings are characterised by the use of intense reds combined with the artist's always rapid, short and long brush strokes.
Camargo's works, many of which portray the landscapes of the Balearic Isles, have been exhibited all over Spain and can be found in permanent exhibitions in the University of Valladolid and the Museum of Contemporary Spanish Art in San Francisco.
The Arab Baths exhibition starts on Thursday 16th August at 20.00 and runs until 9th September. Opening times are Tuesday to Saturday 17.30 to 21.30.
