World Cup Trophy to Visit Ibiza

The gleaming 18 carat gold FIFA World Cup Trophy which the Spanish national football team won

The gleaming 18 carat gold FIFA World Cup Trophy which the Spanish national football team won in South Africa this year will soon be paying a flying visit to Ibiza. Arriving by plane from Palma at about 10.00 on October 5th it will be put on display at one of two venues, yet to be confirmed, the Consell HQ (most likely) or one of the offices of La Caixa bank (less likely) which sponsored the Spanish team.

It's only likely to be on display for around 3 hours because it has to be back on the 14.30 flight to Palma on the same day! So far it's unsure whether fans will be able to actually touch the trophy that they worked so hard for this summer, staying glued to their TV screens for a whole month, setting off fireworks, honking car horns and waving flags.

Any England fans on holiday here at the time might want to take probably the only opportunity they'll ever have of actually seeing the trophy, just take a look at our map below.
