There's another public holiday looming in Ibiza and the good news is that as it's on Sunday most of us won't miss any work! March 1st is the day we celebrate being Balearic and the Ibiza Island
Council has splashed out €453,000 – considerably less than last year's €725,000 – to make it a memorable occasion.
This Saturday there's a free concert in Ibiza town's Reina Sofia Park with DJ Igor Marijuán, Nexus, Rock Garage and Statuas d Sal. On Sunday, the San Rafael Hippodrome sees trotting races, artisans'
market, folklore, traditional horse drawn carts and lots of typical Balearic food and drink products to sample.
The stars of the show which starts at 10.30, will undoubtedly be the Menorcan horses taking part in the 'Doma Menorquina' at 16.00 – a spectacle of synchronised horsemanship.
Sounds like fun!
