Is it all over for Ibiza ..?

Another year arrives and the Ibiza doomsayers are out in force.

Last year it was club closures and increased police presence that would inevitably lead to the end of Ibiza ... but no-one told the Ibiza clubbers who turned up to make last year one of the best in recent years.

And this year, once more, the days are numbered for Ibiza as the authorities work to clean up the image of Ibiza. Or that's what you would believe if you paid attention to recent reports.

help !

Unless you've been stranded in the April snow, you'll know that there have been changes in Ibiza law meaning clubs, in particular Space and DC10, cannot open before 4:30 pm.

It is a drastic change and people are upset so what shall we do ?

One option is to complain and vow never to return to Ibiza ever again. And given that Ibiza means so much to so many people, we can understand this reaction.

don't panic yet

But we prefer a second option - accept the new clubbing hours (grudgingly) and look ahead to all the great things that we've got to look forward to this summer.

And it's impossible to look ahead at the summer line-ups and not get excited - this year really looks like it could be something special.

Tiesto is welcomed back with open arms for a 12 week stint at Privilege.

Club favourite Danny Tenaglia returns to Space with his own night, while Carl Cox and friends continue to re-define our clubbing expectations. Steve Lawler is back and We Love Space may be shorter but you can expect the same quality line-ups each week.

Carl Cox at Space ... just one reason to get excited

Pete Tong and Groove Armada join Judge Jules and Dave Pearce at Eden, promising to lift San Antonio into the clubbing stratosphere.

DC10 is still ... well, DC10.

Paul van Dyk, Sasha and Eddie Halliwell turn up the heat at Cream, while Armin van Buuren and Tocadisco lead the line for Armada. The show goes on for Manumission and the Disco Invader, Sven Vath, leads the Cocoon faithful once more.

Pacha means Roger Sanchez, Erick Morillo, Frankie Knuckles and David Guetta.

Meanwhile, Hed Kandi, Miss Moneypenny's, Defected, Pukka Up and Garlands are not here to make up the numbers.

And of course, Ibiza Rocks is the rock & roll alternative that gets bigger each year !

And we've not even mentioned the great beaches, funky bars or sunset cafes yet...

Ibiza is dead. Long live Ibiza !

Long live Ibiza !
