Cream signs out for another season

Cream closed the doors at Amnesia on Thursday, but not before putting on one of their best parties of the summer.

It’s been a huge summer for Cream in 2007, with some of the biggest names in dance music bringing in a full house of clubbers every week – and ensuring that the infamous Cream atmosphere continues to amaze everyone.

Giving it up for Cream Amnesia

Having spent many great nights at Cream this summer, we headed on down to Amnesia in a very excitable mood – as we were expecting a closing party of epic proportions.

And arriving shortly after 2am, it appears that just a few other people had too !

Cream closing at the Amnesia terrace

On entering the club, all you could see ahead of you were dazzling laser displays and masses of bodies. Far too busy to enjoy a roam around the club, this is one of the nights where you find yourself a spot on the dancefloor and stay there until you drop.

The main room as always was rammed – but absolutely electric - as the majority of the clubbers here tonight were here to see Paul van Dyk and Ferry Corsten smash it up once more this summer.

Unfortunately there was no Eddie Halliwell for the closing bash, as he has been sensational for Cream this season.

Find your spot..and stay there in the main room at Cream

For Paul van Dyk – one of the most reliable dj’s there is – and Ferry Corsten it was business as usual as they thumped out the tunes and drove the crowd wild.

Ferry in particular has had a fantastic summer at Cream, having won over a whole new set of fans with his sets over the weeks here.

However, the Amnesia terrace – which always provides a quality house alternative to the trance in the main room – was also pumping tonight, with Axwell & Ingrosso completely ripping it up to a responsive and up for it crowd.

The Cream terrace...busy right to the end

The terrace atmosphere – often a poor second to the main room – was really terrific, and Axwell & Ingrosso clearly enjoyed playing an extended back-to-back set to the crowd.

But for many, the highlight of the night was a late set by a rising star, Sean Hughes (pictured below), already quite a name in the worker community in Ibiza and responsible for some immense worker parties over the summer.

Sean Hughes...one to watch

Performing a crazy set that included some cool scratching effects, wildly creative music selection and a moment that saw the entire Amnesia terrace literally on their knees, Sean delivered one of the sets of the season and is certainly one to watch.

So, it’s now all over for Cream for 2007 – all we can do now is look back over the great nights we’ve had over the weeks and hope that 2008 doesn’t take too long to arrive…
