For all those who like to combine charity with entertainment, then the 2nd Butterfly Ball, held here in Ibiza should be right up your street.
Buoyed on by the success of the original Butterfly Ball a few years back, which raised over 12,000 Euros and featured live performances from Neneh Cherry and Steve Norman (Spandau Ballet), it’s
now time for another.
The Butterfly Ball is a fund-raiser for the local Ibiza & Formentera Cancer Fund and the UK based MacMillan Cancer Support.
A suitable location has been decided upon for this grand affair, and Amnesia - World Club of the Year – is where this year’s event will be held.
A champagne reception, charity auction and four-course dinner make up the evening, along with some top live music and special DJ appearances.
As a charity event, The Butterfly Ball relies upon donations from stars that we often only read about – and this makes the charity auction all the more special. Some of the items to be auctioned off include a Stevie Gerrard football shirt, a Kaiser Chiefs tour shirt and a framed message from Afrika Bambaataa (all signed of course !).
Also to be auctioned off will be stuff from We Are Scientists, Roger Sanchez, Hed Kandi and now Fierce Angels artist Jason Brooks – plus a cool Ibiza Rocks bag signed by Mark Ronson, Zane Lowe and Fatboy Slim.
Plus much, much more...
The 2nd Butterfly Ball is being held on 25 September at Amnesia and naturally this will be a time to dress up, although the suggested ‘splash of pink’ dress code may be
easier on the women.
Regardless, this event will be one not to be missed – with fine cuisine, live music and entertainment with very special guests. And of course the terrific auction itself.
So far so good, but of course if you cannot make it to Amnesia then you can still make a difference by donating for this good cause.
