"It's like August. There are no taxis at the airport. There are no taxis anywhere." So said a member of the White Isle's professional driver force as he drove us to Dc10 at three thirty on Monday afternoon.
The Ibiza club industry keeps no official figures but current estimates put the numbers of bodies through the various doors of various clubs at more than 30,000.
The good weather also turned up, after a scary bout of inclemency earlier in the week. But by Thursday it had cleared up enough to allow flocks of Italian early birds and their amichi to El Divino (below) on June 1.

It had all the ingredients of a traditional Ibiza party - house, girls in nurses outfits and glittery eurotrash littered the dance floor. El Div resident David Herrera and others pushed the buttons.
Privilege opening - June 3
Privilege opened with the assurance and grace of a prodigiously girthed flamenco dancer. The traffic queue up to San Rafael was slow and long, no doubt to the clubbing institution's delight tho to the frustration of drivers.
The Spotlight Editorial Management Board trundled up the hill and nabbed the final spot in the extensive downhill car parking area. The inside of the club was similarly full.
Conspicoulsy absent however was a Manumission flag hanging alongside those of Privilege's confirmed nights.

Space opening - June 4
According to local news reports, the disco association is no more. Amnesia is really pissed at Space, the new home of La Troya, the biggest weekly gay party in Europe. Space have also got all the straights - more than 10,000 of all sexualities and nationalities attended the opening last Sunday.

Just to rub salt in Amnesia's festering wound, Space opening also featured an ice cannon in the disoteca, as popularised by the San Rafael club.

The car park was not utilised leading to a bit of an interior crush. Safe entrance and egress was aided by the new car parking system. Dancing and musical appreciation was aided by the above artist roster. Nice one!
