The Ibiza tourist sector really does have to spend money to make money. The powers that be continually need to make improvements to our infrastructure so that the island continues to give the punters what they want and so continue to spend their tourist dollars here.
Ibiza town council has just splashed out €900,000 in tidying up and pedestrianising three streets around the old market place at the bottom of the big ramp that goes up to Dalt Vila. The new
traffic free zone will make life so much more pleasant for visitors strolling about the area and also has lots of benches where they can rest their weary feet.
Santa Eulalia has just announced that it's going to spend around €12 million on improvements around the borough. About half of it is coming from central
government loan and will be used to improve drains and pavements in Siesta, tart up Cala Llonga's torrent and make the drainage better, make new green spaces in Santa Eulalia, and to tidy up the
pedestrian areas in Es Cana.
