It’s been a very good year for Ibiza’s bars cafés and restaurants. On average the sector has seen a 6% increase in sales this summer season and everyone is looking forward to a good October.
In detail there are good spots and bad spots and good months and bad. Overall, the biggest increases in sales were experienced in family friendly Santa Eulalia and the super trendy Marina area of Ibiza. Meanwhile San Antonio’s West End had the smallest increase in sales but an increase nevertheless! The most badly hit establishments this season were, as would be expected, those close to hotels providing their customers with ‘all inclusive’ food and drink.
We probably don’t need to say that the most successful month for everybody was August when the island was, as usual, packed to the gunnels. So with one month of the tourist season remaining it’s the turn of San Antonio to be top of the eating out forecasts. The reason is that this month sees so many sporting events - the weather’s normally perfect for physical activity – and the vast majority of them take place around San An.
