The Ibiza Jazz Festival - la Muestra de Jazz de Eivissa - is still going strong after an incredible 18 years. In that time we've seen an incredible roster of artists from all over the world and from all genres of Jazz perform live in the city. The list of names reads like a who's who of the music, Arturo Sandoval, Tony Williams, Elvin Jones, McCoy Tyner, Branford Marsalis and Roy Hargrove have all graced the stage.
This year the venue, the Baluarte de Santa Llúcia, in the old town will present 3 days of Jazz from 27th to 29th July. Unlike previous years there will be no American presence - Europe with a touch of Cuba will hold the fort.
The two big names confirmed to entertain the public are Polish free form trumpeter Tomasz Stanko and Cuban Bassist Jorge Reyes. Support acts include German trombonist Felix Fromm, Catalan trio Karion, Valencian sextet Albert Sanz and the Organics and Tunyi from Madrid.
Prices are not yet available but are always ridiculously cheap! Why not put these dates in your diary if you're in Ibiza in July?
