The start of any New Year always brings a plethora of statistical facts and figures about Ibiza and 2006 is no exception. So without further ado, here are some of the most, and least, interesting ones.

Last year tourists spent a cool €1430 million during their holidays in Ibiza, €31 million less than in 2004.

At 16.8%, Ibiza has the highest percentage in the Balearics of foreign students in its schools. Of it, the vast majority of students are from Germany, Morocco and Ecuador.

One of every five citizens registered in Ibiza lives in an isolated house in the country.

The population of Ibiza and Formentera has increased from 90,000 in 1995 to almost 119,000 in 2005.
