Just in case it's escaped anyone's attention 2006 is World Cup year yet again. From June 9th Germany hosts one whole fantastic football filled month - but never fear, for if tourist bosses have their way in Ibiza, the island's beaches will be converted to hotbeds of footballism.
Their plan is to install giant TV screens on Ibiza's most popular beaches so that tourists never have to miss a single goal, foul, or kick of the ball during the whole month.
This fantastic idea has not pleased everybody though. The boss of the island's hotel federation Pedro Matutes thinks that it's an impractical idea which will never work, and co-critic, travel agent Antoni Torres thinks that people would be better watching footy in more suitable places - Matutes' hotels for example.
Whatever happens, one thing is sure, most of Spain's under-achieving futbolistas will be back on trendy Las Salinas beach after the first round of the competition.
