At last, the news you've all been waiting for. The average temperature for the year 2005 in Ibiza was 17.6 degrees centigrade. This is the 'coldest' it's been in 30 years as the temperature is normal around the 18 degrees mark.
There is however no need to worry about the sea freezing over in July just yet. What the statistics hide is the fact that while January and February were really cold last year when temperatures of five below zero were experienced, the months of April, May and June were hotter than average.
The weathermen also tell us that we had 21% more rainfall in 2005 than the average for the last 30 years. A total of 509 litres of water fell on every square metre of Ibiza and people lucky enough to have been here last September will remember most of it falling in just one night!
