The Spanish navy's unexploded bomb section were called out to deal with a live shell which was found by a diver off the coast of Ibiza last week.
The medium calibre shell, lying on the bottom of the sea near the Islas Bledes at Cala d'Hort, is believed to have originated in the Spanish Civil war and was neutralised by a controlled explosion.
Surprisingly, this type of incident is not unusual in our waters, and the navy had to deactivate 3 other explosive devices last year.
