Ibiza's first ever brass band festival got off to a standing start in Sant Jordi this week.
The festival was 'organised' by the Island Council, but when the 55 members of a band who had come all the way from Valencia turned up for their 7.30 PM concert not a soul from the Council was there.
The Councillor for Culture eventually arrived at '8 for 8.30' and received a standing ovation from the boys in the band - they couldn't do anything else as nobody had bothered to supply them with chairs to sit on!
