Leaked details of the new soap opera 'Ten in Ibiza' to be shown on Spain's main TV channel reveal that it will be even better than we could have hoped for. Filming is about to start, and over 70 crew as well as the 'actors' have taken up residence in a hotel in Playa den Bossa for the next 18 weeks until the programmes are completed.
The plot revolves around two families from Madrid who are given the chance to spend some time in Ibiza by crewing a 46-metre yacht. Ironically, the series was only made possible when local businessman, Abel Matutes, actually donated his own 46-metre yacht, the good ship Aiglón, for free and reduced production costs by 30%.
Spanish soap devotees will be delighted to hear that the two families involved are both completely normal and ideally suited for house sharing in Ibiza. Amongst their number are; a mother with a peculiar sense of humour, a son hooked on computer games, an adopted daughter and survivor of the civil war in Ruanda, a rebel daughter, a snobby daughter and, saving the best till last, yet another adopted daughter, descendant of a shaman, with strange uncontrollable powers. We can't wait till it starts!
