Ibiza town will soon look like a scene from Terminator's post-apocalyptic nightmare as the machines wage war against a hapless public.
Traffic chaos is predicted, so nothing new there, as the big yellow diggers move in to several areas of the city in a carefully co-ordinated move by the council to improve everything in one fell swoop.
On the agenda for modernisation are; the Avenida España, The Boulevard Abel Matutes, and Calle Pere Frances. Other projects planned are the 'final' solution to the drainage problem of the city which has been 'solved' twice before, and major works on The Avenida 8 de Agusto including pipeline installation to pump petrol from a terminal on the new dyke. However anybody planning next year's holidays needn't worry because all the work will be finished in 8 months.
