There's an old saying that truth is stranger than fiction and this has certainly been proved in Santa Eulalia this week.
In the middle of August, the height of the tourist season, when there are more visitors per square metre of island than ever before, the council in Santa Eulalia has taken on the task of installing a new disabled access ramp from the main promenade down to the beach.
The noise from the drills and compressors is not only annoying for beach sunbathers, but it is driving away custom from the many bars and restaurants which line the promenade! When will our authorities ever learn?
