Local police were called to the Plaza del Parque in Ibiza by annoyed residents to try to disperse a crowd of 40 people who had gathered at two in the morning to play bongos.
Even in Ibiza there are laws governing noise at antisocial hours, and although asked to stop drumming, the group refused to do so. Subsequently the ringleader, a 39-year-old Spanish man was arrested and taken to the police station.
The next thing the police knew was that 40 people and 7 or 8 dogs on ropes were trying to assault the building and the National police had to be called to rescue them and other arrests were made!
Extra police are now on hand around the Plaza del Parque on a nightly basis to stop episodes like this being repeated.
