Gloria Gaynor, seventies disco diva and gay icon, was in town this week to give a mammoth 20-minute performance in San Rafael's well known Privilege discotheque.

Miss Gaynor accompanied only by four dancers appeared on stage at 4.30 AM (??!!??!!) on the dot and completely took the audience by surprise by singing karaoke favourites 'I Will Survive' and 'Never Can Say Goodbye.'

Unfortunately our sleepy sleuths were unable to ascertain whether the lyrics to these two songs were displayed on a TV monitor at the side of the stage for her to sing along to!
