Just to prove that watching paint dry isn't that boring, the neighbours association of the Sa Capelleta area of Ibiza have organised a fast painting competition as part of the traditional festival of Sant Cristòfol (St. Christopher).
Held in the very lovely Plaza del Parque, artists from all over the island will present their vision of the square in rapid time for prizes of up to €300, sponsored by various banks and the neighbours themselves.
Other events for the Patron Saint of Travellers' day are a special mass, a gigantic 'pork fry up' and the benediction of the vehicles, a kind of holy squeegee ceremony where the Bishop of Ibiza douses a procession of motor cars with holy water.
