San Antonio town council has approved a moratorium for a year on granting licenses
to new musical 'establishments'. The idea is to stop the growth of this type of
place as it is considered that the town has too many as it is. The main bone of
contention at the moment seems to be the proposed new 'café concierto'
being constructed opposite to the marina by the same company which owns the Space
Discotheque. There is a great deal of opposition to this from residents and businesses
alike in this vicinity but nobody seems to be able to say whether the new moratorium
will, or will not, prevent its opening.
