That's certainly what we'll have when the works and installations to connect the two desalination plants at San Antonio and Ibiza are completed. Not only will our drinking water supply be augmented by production from the two plants but it will also be cheaper, and the same price all over the island! Currently, consumers pay extremely different rates for the same amount of water depending on where they live - those in Ibiza Town pay almost double the rate of Santa Eulalia. This can make the traditional Friday bath night a luxury that some natives of Ibiza Town can hardly afford compared to their spotless counterparts over in Santa Eulalia. However on an island with no surface water and hardly any rainfall, this writer still pays less on his water bills (and he showers every day) than he did when he lived in Manchester, Europe's 24 hour rain city!
