Firstly - Finnebassen has been booked to play at the Sankeys opening on Thursday 23rd May after a resounding shout out for the artist to be added. People power!
Sankeys have announced 'Phase One' of their first 60 parties this summer, with 'Phase Two' of the announcement coming next week. Note, these are not lineup announcements, but rather which parties will be happening at the club over the course of the summer - and things are looking good!
First up, we have the return of the legend that is Steve Lawler. His debut season at Sankeys last year saw Lawler and his Viva Warriors smash the proverbial back doors off the Basement every Wednesday night, and so the man returns for 2013, but on 15 nights worth of Sundays instead.
Saturday night institution - Carnival - is also back for another season of unbeatable parties that should ensure that its hold on the Saturday night slot remains solid and relatively unchallenged quality wise. Over the 17 parties, various external promoters and labels will be involved, such as Southampton's Junk, Fabrics WetYourSelf!, Miguel Campbells Outcross Records, Shlomi Abers Be As One, Bugged Out!, Tenax Italy, Culprit USA and many more.
Perhaps one of the greatest additions to the club for the coming season will see Claude VonStroke and his label, Dirtybird Records, take up a 12 night residency on Thursdays from 27th June, bringing with him label friend Justin Martin, amongst others. This is one to get very excited about.
That completes the first round of announcements of regular parties, but there are of course more to come. In terms of one-off events, Sankeys will have parties from Flying Circus, Troupe Records, Clarisse Records, Resonance Records, Klik, Art of Dark and worker favourite - Departure.
All parties have an early bird price of 20€ on sale now until lineups are fully announced.
The two-day combo ticket for the Sankeys Opening Party is also still available at 49€ until the lineups are announced.
