Photo Review: Renaissance, 10th July

sublime music all the way.

Tuesday was a hugely busy night on the island, with the likes of Coxy at Space, Fiddy at Privilege, Sister Sledge at OBC, and Chase & Status at Amnesia. But I chose the night that is celebrating 20 years of its history in the music industry - Renaissance at Pacha. The lineup alone would have done it for me anyway, with Satoshi Tomiie, Nick Warren, Danny Howells, Dave Seaman and Jonathan Cowan all playing, but couple that with a name that in my opinon stands for creidibility and quality and it was an easier choice than deciding between meat and veg for me (meat all the way!). Yummy.

The guys didn't dissapoint, with not a missed beat or messed up mix between the lot of them. I actually had never seen Satoshi play before, but I'd heard good things and on this night heard even more good things. Tracks like 'Jaxx Attax', a mix of Kavinksy's 'Nightcall' (I think...), and Satoshi Tomiie's very own 'Prism Vision' all featured and sounded great. Not music to go absolutely nuts to as such, more one of those scrunch-your-face-up-and-give-an-all-knowing-nod-to-your-mates type beats. Next time I'll be sure to bring along some mates, otherwise that doesn't work so well.

Very cool party indeed, it's only a shame we have to wait so long to the next party, falling on the 4th September.
