Ibiza Gossip Girl Chapter 4

Gossip Girl continues her tales of island life.

I've decided something. The weeks in Ibiza are definitely getting shorter. How the hell has a week already gone by since I was beside myself with joy at the opening of We Love at Space on Sunday?! This week I've had to take it a little easier as we are no question well and truly underway, in season, and along with work, this island is hotting up, literally. It's scorchio.

I decided to take a visiting gal pal for a traditional Ibiza Town port experience, which to me is pizza at El Pirata, which I've been going to since I can remember (and they're still as tasty and affordable as ever), followed by cocktails at the Rock Bar, a celeb and tourist favourite. Sounds simple enough, but on the way we were literally ambushed by PR's trying to get us to have a drink in their bar! A word of warning if you want to be left in peace, walk down the port on the side of the sea, unless of course you fancy a bar crawl, then you're positively laughing. They've all got kinds of offers and freebies to tempt you in their watering hole. If they don't, my advice move on, or wangle a free chupito (shot) out of them as that's dead easy...

Saturday night I dropped by the ever luxurious tantric playground that is Bambuddha Grove (picture top). It's on the road on the way to San Juan, all bamboo shoots and exotic class. The food is always superb, my particular favourites being the sizzling tiger prawns, but tonight I'd swung by to check out Sarah Harding's fiancé Tom Crane behind the decks, along with Stef Manni and island man about town, Rob Marmot. The Bambuddha family are throwing weekly Saturday night parties ingeniously called Black Sheep Tribe, which is Bambuddha all over. I hear Tom is on the island for the summer and has taken up a residency at super stylish beach club Blue Marlin in Playa Es Jondal. Sarah Harding was nowhere to be seen that night, there were lots of hot girls dancing in-front of the DJ box, but Tom wasn't tempted, and I expect Sarah will be popping up a plenty this summer.

If you've got a bit of wonga in your pockets and fancy treating yourself to some hot to trot clothes and jewellery, Bambudda also has the most to die for boutique. Hippy owner John Moon's glamourpuss daughter Sasha Moon has designed all the clothing, incorporating her father's hippy spirit with her own rock and roll twist, and the results are AMAZING and look straight off the catwalk. I'm informed in a couple of weeks the new collection which is all printed suede and leathers will be in the store, but I've already got my eye on the chiffon soldier esque shirts that you could see Alexa Chung fainting over. Although it's slightly more expensive than the high street, it's still affordable and well worth the money. And don't even get my started on all the jewellery...

Speaking of jewellery, well more specifically rings. Wedding rings. Duh dum, da-da... Duh dum, da-da, duh dum da da dum da da dum da da... Does this year seem like the year of weddings or what? Almost every weekend since Kate and Will said I do in-front of a bored looking HRH and well, the world, someone's walking up the aisle. Yesterday it was Noel Gallagher and Sarah MacDonald's turn. They met in Ibiza eleven summers ago. And I was present on the beach at Bora Bora, Playa d'en Bossa, the first time Sarah spotted Noel and made a beeline for him. She was PA at the time for the Manumission bosses, but then left to get cosy with the Oasis mastermind, and set up her own business, of course. She returned to Ibiza with Noel in 2007 and no one recognised her with the amount of work she'd had done. Honest, it's true, not even her old employer knew who she was! Fair play to her though, she looks great. And she got her rockstar prince, so every credit.

Right, I'm off to get ready to go in search of my own. It's Swedish House Mafia tonight at Pacha so it's time to get glamorous.

Until next week.
