Big shots MTV are hitting Ibiza this summer for some sun, sea and serious music. I Want My MTV Ibiza presentsa diverse range of the best acts in pop, hip hop and dance, at the world famous Amnesia. Hosting two rooms of music, the Terrace will welcome a variety of top notch headliners such as Kelis, 2 Many DJ's and Mark Ronson, while over in the Main Room the music policy will stay strictly underground. Magda will be representing the M-nus crew for the first gig on Friday 1st July, plus M.A.N.D.Y., Marco Carola and Audiofly are booked throughout the season. Support in the Terrace comes from resident Felix Da Housecat and in the Main Room techno boys Layo & Bushwhacka will rock the dancefloor every week.
To open the 10 week run, MTV have secured none other than Snoop doggy dawggg. This will be a very rare opportunity to catch the hip hop superstar perform on the white isle. Not quite so gangster but equally unmissable, Duran Duran will take centre stage on 12th August, again a one-off opportunity to experience the legendary band in a unique setting. Finally, this is Ibiza, home to the best in dance music, so it's fitting that minimal maestro Ritchie Hawtin should host the Terrace, as his live moniker Plastikman, on 5th August.
As this is an MTV get-up expect full production and visuals delights. And as every week there is a mixture of dance and more commercial music on show, you can have a poptastic night while still keeping your inner raver happy. MTV gracing the island and broadcasting the shows on TV back to the UK can only mean more positive vibes for Ibiza, we say bring on Snoop!
