The big news is that the traditional close to the clubbing summer, Space Closing, has been brought forward one week to the 27th September. Not only is this the first time in well over 15 years (possibly ever) that Space hasn't closed around the first weekend in October, this year closing duties are shared with long time Sunday hosts We Love. We'll let you all chew the fat about what all that means or you can just check out the hefty line up that will be gracing Space's 7 arenas.
We've actually already had some closing parties. The Zoo Project closed on the 5th September to much aplomb, although there is another one off on 12th September and possibly another to follow in late September. Hmmmmm....reminds me a little of Danny Rampling's 20 or so last ever EVER gigs!!
The big closing week this year is actually two weeks, starting from week commencing Monday 21st Sep right through to the now likely DC10 Re-Opening/Closing/Banned Again Party on the 6th October.
All the major English promoted parties fall in one week, starting with the Swedish House Mafia and Tiesto on Monday 21st Sep, Carl Cox on Tuesday 22nd, Cream on Thursday 24th, Wonderland on Friday 25th and Hed Kandi and Defected on Saturday 26th. Phew!! Check the calendar for easy ticket purchasing.
The following week the attention switches focus to the Latin parties, with guaranteed mega-busy closings for Cocoon with Luciano and Villalobos doing their traditional season end back to back thing on Monday 28th, followed by something similar at Monza on Thursday 1st October. Also, F*** Me I'M Famous stay open for one party on the 1st , then comes Supertmartxe and Privilege Closing on 2nd October and finally the biggie that is Richie Hawtin and Luciano for Amnesia Closing on Saturday 3rd, although all the fun starts from dawn on the Sunday morning. Last year's Amnesia Closing was emotional by all accounts, don't miss it.
Hooked onto the end of all this is the now official Circo Loco at DC10 bash taking place on Tuesday 6th October. The Tuesday thing has confused a lot of people but it comes down to nothing more than the fact their closure ban doesn't run out until then!! More details coming soon.
