It's that time of the season where new and legendary DJs flock to Ibiza in their droves, each flying over with chests loaded full of great tunes, and each ready to blast us into the musical ether in celebration of closings. From Flower Power to Music On, this week some absolute belters will be in attendance to make sure we see out another yet another White Isle summer on a high note. Here are seven DJs you should have on your hitlist over the coming seven days on the island.
Monday 26 September / DJ Piti / Flower Power closing at Pacha
If you've heard enough techno to last a lifetime, or you're a true hippy at heart, OR you're just up for a swinging sixties good time, the Flower Power closing is where it's at. The original Flower Power king, DJ Piti, graces the booth tonight to spin only the best 60s, 70s and feel-good tunes. Get your flares and your wigs on, this one is an unmissable island instution.
Tuesday 27 September / Luna City Express / Vista Club closing at Privilege
The famous windowed Vista Club closes with a bang on Tuesday, and to mark the occasion, Luna City Express have been invited to provide celebratory tunes. This marks the pair's third time on the White Isle this year and the boys will no doubt be on course for an impressive hat trick. Also on the bill is Solid Grooves headliner, Dennis Cruz, and many more.
Wednesday 28 September / KiNK (Live) / Paradise closing at DC-10
Any party including this genius on the bill is guaranteed to be special. KiNK's live performances have the ability to make anyone's senses tingle with the force - prepare to be blown away. Paradise has remained one of the most popular parties on the island in 2016, and looking at the line-up it's not hard to see why. Joining KiNK on the bill are Nicole Moudaber, Eats Everything and Skream.
Thursday 29 September / Rødhåd / Afterlife closing at Space
Rødhåd has been played non-stop here at Spotlight headquaters - the bearded-tech god takes techno to a different level. Playing in the Chamber, Rødhåd rounds up the idea of Afterlife after a successful debut season - dark, mysterious and out of this world. Dance under the falling man on the Terraza and explore Space's darker side for one last time.
Friday 30 September / Busta Ryhmes / IAMARICHBITCH closing at Privilege
Yes, thats right. BUSTA RHYMES IS COMING TO TOWN. I'm so excited about this - the idea of seeing the man himself in the vast room of Privilege quite frankly does things to me. Expect some of the world's greatest rap, hip-hop and cheesy tunes all in one night. We know you want it.
Saturday 1 October / Lauren Lane / Ushuaïa closing party
The line-up for this year's closing party at Ushuaïa reads like something from a DC-10 billboard - Seth Troxler, the Martinez Brothers and Black Coffee will all appear. But we're looking forward to seeing Lane keep her repuation as one of the most talented DJs in the industry, especially after her release of 'Cool Kids' on Nic Fanciulli's label. This party will blow Playa D'en Bossa away.
Sunday 2 October / Carl Cox / Space Closing Fiesta
I write this with wet tear ducts, because after having the privilege of seeing Coxy play his last ever set at Music Is Revolution at Space last week, I'm still feeling pretty emotional. But Coxy will be stepping up to the booth for the final time ever at Space this Sunday, and given his illustrious history with the club and its owner, Pepe Roselló, this set is sure to surpass even his best yet. For this reason and a million others, the Space closing will be the mother of all closing parties - the whole world is going to feel the buzz.
