As if seven diverse nights of clubbing aren't enough, Amnesia has gone and given us something to continue the party - whether it's in your villa in Ibiza, or your car in the UK, Amnesia Ibiza 2016 sees everything from minimal techno to deep house, craftily mixed by three of the club's favourite DJs.
After celebrating 26 years of global gatherings, Amnesia has a lot to show off. Every year it adds to its DJ family, this year counting the likes of Sven Väth, Ricardo Villalobos, Marco Carola, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and even Paris Hilton contributing to (ironically) keeping Amnesia unforgettable.
CD1 is mixed by none other than Mar-T, who's been an Amnesia resident since 1999. He kicks things off with a soulful NGHT DROPS remix of Moderat's ‘Eating Hooks', closely followed by 'Star Butchers - Darling Edit' by Awanto 3. Mar-T's stays minimal with an intergalactic twist, and things get more fast-paced as a pinch of groove is thrown courtesy of Brett Johnson and Mikey V's ‘Runaway'.
Hector Couto takes control of CD2 and proves exactly why he's been described as “the perfect blend of Chicago house and old-school techno”. Couto features remixes from Mathias Kaden and Davide Squillace, as well as two of his own tracks ‘Get It On' and ‘Old Roots'. CD2 is an instant turn on, Couto has tastefully selected artists such as Riva Starr, Richy Ahmed and Audiojack to make it a disco-infused recipe full of goodness.
Disc three is packed with rare goodies and mixed by Betoko, who, after a lively journey through disc two, bravely starts things off with a euphoric, minimal tech house banger, Arjuna Schiks - ‘Ankara' (Blancah Remix). Betoko has kept to the minimal theme throughout, ploughing ruthelss thought, precision at the task, with appearances from Sascha Braemer and Rampa, Betoko has masterfully prepared the perfect comedown mix.
This tasteful trio have poured years of experience into their own hour-long mixes, a gift that's been kindly passed it on to us lucky clubbers.
