Entering into Eden's run of Faux Basement events for Saturday evenings and you know what to expect. Musically it's going to be a combination of hard-hitting bass lines with catchy, uplifting melodies, got down to those looking to fill their house shaped needs. The Manchester brand, which has found a home on island this summer, promises to see San Antonio hit with treats from the underground.
In the centre of the club the giant reflective disco ball swung mid-air, moving from the vibrations coming in thick and fast brought to you by Sick Elektrik playing their new track being bumped by Steve Lawler at the moment, If Only We. Further new material from DJ S.K.T's recent release on Defected, Dirty, in amongst a remix of Duke Dumont's The Giver drifted out as laser gun samples took over. Island favourites were included, like Forget by Patrick Topping mixed into Hannah Wants' Rhymes. When Sam Dungate & Rory Verrill took control they distributed punching bass lines, fused with an appreciation for past tunes that can still prove their worth, such as Route 94's Forget The Girl from 2012.
The Zoo Project decided to pay a visit to its newly located after party spot in Eden's Backroom, though revellers ending up wandering into the main room, raving arms painted up in glittered animal print.
