Most of you will already be well aware that with the closing of a legendary We Love era, which held residency at Space for over a decade, opened a fresh chapter, ready to be inked with a Balaeric tale tipped to be of epic proportions. What you may not know, until now, is the info that We Love past devotees and new devotees to come have no doubt been edgily waiting for. That is, the hotly anticipated line-up which puts the ‘who' into the We Love Sankeys formulae.
We're beyond excited to be able to lay down the finer details on the Wednesday sesh opening party which kicks off on the 17th of June. We Love at Sankeys Ibiza will be kicking off with chart topping Black Butter Records artists including drum and bass Rudimental, leading face of the UK forward thinking house scene, Kidnap Kid and RnB infused house producer Nvoy. Headlining the basement for the opening night will be The 2 Bears, injecting a lethal groove dosage onto the dancefloor, drawing upon their rich pallet to deliver sets that showcase their truly eclectic taste. Adding to the already packed line up, is fellow London DJ and production legend T.Williams whose career spans Grime, UK Bass and now his much lauded take on house music. Meatening the already juicey line-up is Kaz James, a rare breed of DJ who has balanced chart success with an undiluted love of underground club music, making him the perfect fit for We Love. Jason Bye, a We Love stalwart will be filling the resident slot.
Opening party aside, across the 16 week run We Love will be bringing to the island a cocktail of genre spanning acts. From UK and Fabric associate Daniel Avery, to Dutch house duo Detroit Swindle, We Love mainstay Sasha, the ever eclectic, ever faithful James Zabiela, slick production duo Dusky, revered Ivan Smagghe and legendary Scottish selector Optimo. This season's residents include Jason Bye and Andy Baxter, two men who perpetuate the ideals of We Love and 2 Vilas, born and bred Ibicenco's who know the island, its clubbers and the music that moves them intimately.
As ever, the forward thinking, unrestrained emotions built around We Love will be committed to genre-less programming and embeds its soul focus on pushing the energy levels across the dancefloor. Partnering with long standing club brand Bugged Out, and relative new comer to the scene, Eton Messy, exemplifies We love's effortless ability to maintain ties with its long standing roots yet constantly remaining on the cusp of forward thinking dance music.
Free spirited and hedonistic are descriptors revellers are to bear in mind and fully embrace this season at Sankeys on Wednesdays. As We Love peppers more than just one flavour of dance music, we're all set to observe a crowd as diverse as the musical waves ready to echo throughout We Love's new temple.
