We have another new night taking place on Saturdays on Ibiza as legendary House music label and party 'Hard Times' makes it's debut on the island. The Leeds, UK, based brand was one of the real pioneers of house music in the UK back in the 90s, taking the breakthrough sound from the US over to the UK crowd and introducing artists such as Roger Sanchez, Todd Terry and David Morales who have all since become household names in the genre.
The parties take place at the quite frankly stunning Vista Club, the more intimate club room that sits next to Privilege's main room, but exists (as in this case) as an entirely separate club space. Looking at photographs of the outside of Privilege, Vista Club is the glass pyramid like structure, boasts a fantastic soundsystem from Funktion One (their club exclusive Dance-stack range), and commands impressive views over the fields and hills of San Rafael and over to Ibiza Town and the sea. Really, this venue is at it's peak at sunrise as the sun streams in through the windows making this one of the best dancefloors on the island.
The opening party takes place on Saturday 20th June and features some of house musics greatest artists, such as Todd Terry, Junior Sanchez, Mark Fanciulli, NiCe7, Mat Playford and Jason Bye. The residency continues all season long with the closing falling on 12th September. Further artists set to feature across the season include Roger Sanchez, Derrick Carter, DJ Sneak, Mark Fanciulli, Doc Martin, Doorly, Mat Playford, Hector Romero, Brett Johnson and many more as yet to be announced.
It's good to see proper house music has found itself a new playground for the weekend.
