Next Friday (8th August) sees two very special events happening in Ibiza. Not only is it the day of the annual San Ciriaco firework display, but Flower Power is having a one off party at Destino. Better still, you won't have to pick between the two, because the al fresco venue is perched up on the cliffs overlooking Ibiza Town, making it the perfect spot to take in the spectacular display.
This will be the first time in 34 years that the legendary hippie extravaganza is upping sticks from its usual home, and where better to do so than this, Pacha's very own open air arena. Mega-fans of the 1960's spectacle will be pleased to know that far from replacing the usual Tuesday night party, it simply means it's a double-header next week for all you hippies on the island.
The fireworks themselves are a yearly tradition held as part of the Fiestas de la Tierrain, a local festival held in honour of the Patron Saint of the island, San Ciriaco, and mark the end of four days of floats and parades. As well as the usual festivities, there are going to be a few other special additions to Flower Power's day outdoors to celebrate the occasion, with artistic entertainment, the world-famous Las Dalias hippie market stopping by and a special menu on offer.
Kicking off at 6pm, there'll be plenty of time to soak up the sun and take in your surroundings - and fellow guests' costumes - in all their glory. There's no official dress code, but what would Flower Power be without the odd pair of flairs and platforms? You'll then get to admire the sunset over the venue's panoramic views of Talamanca bay, before dancing the night away under the stars, ending the night with a bang. A one off night this summer, if you're on the island this is definitely one party worth checking out.
