Sankeys Ibiza have announced their collaboration with Ibiza-based, international party ‘Next Wave' and their plans to host the LAB at Sankeys for five Tuesdays across the calendar, spanning from July until the closing party.
The string of parties will begin on 29th July and will feature Romanian DJ Raresh and Cocoon's very own Ricardo Villalobos, who has matched his two dates across the season at Cocoon at Amnesia with two shows at Sankeys.
Other acts to appear across the season include Rhadoo, Praslea, Onur Ozur and many more. The party will take place throughout the season in Sankeys' famous LAB room, coinciding with London-based event Fuse's curation of the line-up in the Basement. Next Wave should bring a more international crowd to the Sankeys, which already has the UK contingent on the island in its thrall.
Next Wave's motto is ‘no philosophy, just music' – a sentiment that will please many partygoers who are all about the music and less about the superficial. This party has a shared understanding with Sankeys that it is the music that attracts people to a club night, which is why the party perfectly suits the ‘stripped back' atmosphere and approach to clubbing that Sankeys has gained such a big reputation for.
Next Wave's feature that sets them apart from other nights is that they book true vinyl DJs and close friends, giving the party a rare family feel that partygoers savour.

It's refreshing to see event organisers who are as passionate about the music as the partygoers are and this can only serve to turn Next Wave into a success story at Sankeys over the coming months. Clubbers have been asking for a minimal/techno event at Sankeys for quite a while and not only have Sankeys done it, but they've succeeded in booking some of the biggest names in the scene.
The closing party is certainly an event you'll want to be at, taking place on 7th October and featuring Villalobos in his last show of the season, RPR Soundsystem (the entire crew!), and an unannounced guest. The party is going to be all the more special because it is one of the few that isn't happening on a weekly basis. You won't get many chances to see these guys in Ibiza this season so seize the opportunity while you can!
