IMS Final speakers + schedule announced

Final speakers and full schedule now available - details within.

The International Music Summit is one of the must attend events for anyone for whom electronic dance music is more than just a good night out. If you're into the industry in a way that makes you want to see it grow and better itself with the work you do then the panels, interviews, keynote speeches, demonstrations and networking events are crucial in terms of the level of knowledge and wisdom which is shared around.

Many of the industry's leading figureheads flock to Ibiza each year for the event, which is now rolling into a new venue for the conference side of things - the Hard Rock Hotel Ibiza in Playa d'en Bossa. Announced we have U2 manager Paul McGinnis, Rob Cowan from Point Blank, Blaise Bellville from Boiler Room, Miles Leonard from Parlophone/Warner Bros, Jamal Edwards of the UK based SBTV, Seth Troxler, guys from Beatport, Mixmag, RA and other important electronic music publications, the team behind Avicii's success, BBC Radio 1's Annie Mac, Mark Jones celebrating 20 years of his Wall of Sounds label, a Boy George keynote interview and loads more besides.

There are interesting discussions over a wide variety of topics at this year's conference. The rise of the BRICK countries, those countries for whom the economy and resulting music scene is expecting to grow the most in coming years, the ever complex and competitive world of event ticketing - something which we at Spotlight are particularly involved in, the rise of the Spanish underground movement with involvement from Barcelona born party Elrow amongst others, discussions on the state of play for independent record labels in today's highly globalised industry and, interestingly, a look at the nightlife of our own music mecca - Ibiza.

The theme for this year's conference is ‘Filtering the Future'; in a world of overload, how do things manage to cut through? This is a particularly important topic of debate going on in Ibiza at the moment, as we continue to battle with the tide of growing interest in dance music and balance out the effects of that on the island and its reputation.

Aside from the discussion, knowledge-sharing and networking, there are some awesome parties scheduled for the festival. Aside from the afterparties at the likes of Pacha and Sankeys there are some of the island and conference defining parties up at Dalt Vila - the world UNESCO Heritage site that overlooks Ibiza Town. We don't ever tire of explaining to people just how great a dancefloor it is when the IMS team set to work there. This year they are artists playing such as Jamie Jones, Seth Troxler, Pete Tong, Eats Everything, Steve Angello, some great live shows and a special tribute to Frankie Knuckles with Pete Tong, David Morales and Hector Romero all going B2B2B.

The conference and parties kick off next week on Wednesday the 21st of May (some small events the night before as a warm-up) and runs until Friday 23rd May. The Dalt Vila parties take place on the nights of Thursday the 22nd and Friday the 23rd of May. Tickets can be purchased via the links on the right and below this article.

Now, for a run down of the full schedule...
