Hed Kandi Records are set to release their latest compilation, 'Hed Kandi Ibiza 2013' on the 15th July. The annually released series presents a comprehensive glimpse of what makes the global brand tick when they turn their ears on Ibiza. The three disc package soundtracks a 'return to the mystical white isle' via Hed Kandi's unique fusion of vocal led anthems and deep percussive grooves. The album launch coincides with the continued success of Hed Kandi's flagship island night, 'Once Upon A Time In Ibiza', held at Es Paradis.
Opening with Avicii & Nicky Romero's 'I Could Be the One', Disc One is a euphoric collection of the big room hits that have been rippling through the island since the summer began. Mysterious house titan Eric Prydz brings production weight and a bright and grooving style mirrored by Toolroom's Mark Knight whilst fresh-faced starlets Porter Robinson and Alesso bring bounce and sunlight to the proverbial table.
Disc Two begins to tip-toe down the clubbing path. Alex Kenji's mix of 'Addicted' with its spritely, glancing rift and firm percussion paves the way for a sun-kissed exploration of House as the album alternates between soulful melody and moodier thoughts. Disc Three announces your arrival. After swinging, swaying and laughing along a path of bright tiles you find yourself wrapped up in a warmly hedonistic affair. Dusky's 'Nobody Else' - fast becoming an island hymn - sets the tone for this final disc - rosy synths are replaced with tight kicks and deep pads. Shirking genre-boundaries and showcasing a diverse wealth of talent it seems Hed Kandi Ibiza can - and will - be used for all manner of sins.
The compilation also includes three continuous disc mixes courtesy of 'Once Upon A Time In Ibiza' party residents Sarah Louise, Dan Van and Sam Cannon. Since 1999 the brand has kept its illustrated feminine fingers firmly on the pulse and after last years edition sold over 50,000 copies in the UK alone - consider this a welcome edition to your summer collection. Every Saturday until September 28th Hed Kandi transforms San Antonio's Es Paradis into a glinting tale of angel wings, live saxophone and hedonistic house pleasure - this album intends to lead you there.
