Flashmob picks his favourite things to do on Ibiza

Ahead of the release of debut album Sundown, Flashmob talks us to about what he gets up to here between gigs.

After breaking through with hit track Need In Me, a 2012 release on Defected, Flashmob has racked up appearances on Hot Creations, Toolroom, Repopulate Mars and Nothing Else Matters. His productions combine the old and new, seeking to unlock the groove of any given dancefloor.

This summer, the Irish-Italian artist kept his Ibiza dates limited, but such is his affinity with the island he can't but help extend time spent here to enjoy everything on offer.

Ahead of the release of his debut album next month, Flashmob talked to us about what he likes to get up to here between gigs.

Hacienda Na Xamena

Breakfast

"I am lucky to be able to say I am regular guest at Hacienda Na Xamena (pictured above). I nearly always go to have a late breakfast, that is more of lunch there when I am there with my wife. If not, we love Ses Roques in Cala Conta. The food and view are unparalleled."

Beach

"Cala Llentrisca in the south of San José is my favourite beach.

You can still find the traditional chamizos that is now become rare. It's a perfect spot to dive and do snorkelling or just relax. It's a really special place if you don't mind a stony beach and it's best to go early in the morning till noon - but it's the best sea access, unless you have a boat."

Island activity

"I always take a very long walk from Talamanca through Ibiza Marina all the way to Ibiza Town every time I visit the island. I love to go to the fortified Old Town Dalt Vila to see all the different coloured doors of the buildings. It's fascinating."

Restaurant

"Since I like fusion cuisine, for dinner my favourite spot is Amante, which is Dave Piccioni's restaurant. It's in Santa Eulalia at the bay of Sol d'en Serra, near Cala Llonga. It's a classy place, with really great Mediterranean food - the perfect mix for me."

Partying

"Café Mambo and Pacha are two of my favourites. Through the years I have played both so many times, for Defected and Claptone's The Masquerade. I have so many memories linked to these two very special locations."

Flashmob releases his debut album Sundown via his own Flashmob Records on 25 October. The 12-track project fuses styles from across the electronic spectrum, from House and Acid to Breakbeat and big vocals - an artistic expression of the freedom to create without constraints.

Flashmob says, "Sundown was an unintended project born from a time of uncertainty and an enforced stillness. Covid obliged me to reset, stay home and think about who I am, what I do and why I do it. Why did I decide to get into this in the first place?

It wasn't to be famous nor to make money. I was only looking for happiness."

You can listen to lead track Twin Flames featuring Laila Walker above.

Sundown is out at the end of next month and will be available for digital download and streaming on all reputable online platforms.
