One of the most celebrated dance music brands of the Noughties is returning to Ibizan shores later this month. Hedkandi is back, but only for one night only... for now!
Standing out from other parties, Hedkandi emerged in the Funky House era and made a name for itself with glitzy and glamorous production and its trademark cartoon artwork depicted on its mix CD covers and event flyers. Its creator and head resident Mark Doyle sold the brand to Ministry of Sound in 2006 at its height of popularity.
Then in 2019, after some success with new project Fierce Angel, Mark reacquired the worldwide licence - right in time for Hedkandi's 20th anniversary.
Now it's approaching its quarter century, Mark and the gang are launching it into the 25th year with a one-off Ibiza special called One Night In Heaven.
The party will take place on Saturday 26 August at the party's old stomping ground of Es Paradis. After stints at Pacha, Eden, El Divino (the building currently occupied by Lío Ibiza) and Space, Hedkandi previously held a residency there from 2010 through 2015.
What a match made in heaven it was. One of the most beautiful clubs in the world hosting this decadent party with a sophisticated House soundtrack.
Joining Mark on the night will be DJs Milk & Sugar, Mike Van Loon, Tom de Neef and Ray Paeron, alongside live PAs from Put 'Em High vocalist THERESE and House music legend Barbara Tucker, a live saxophonist and live drummer.
Phoenix Rose and her troupe of Hedkandi dancers will also be in attendance, adding an extra layer of authenticity. Who knows, there may even be a surprise or two in store.
A night of Hedkandi classic anthems is promised and no doubt some upfront music as well.
