The hippy hotspot Flower Power proves the past never dies as people turned out in their masses to welcome the party back to Pacha for its 39th year.
Walking into Pacha was like stepping into a time capsule with a nod to each decade in some way or another.
Some clubbers were in fancy dress, but others were pulling the hippy look off naturally. A smell of incense filled the air and at the entrance, a mini market was filled with stacks of flower headbands and funky sunglasses.
Everyone was in the highest of spirits as I entered the Main Room and marvelled at the iconic Flower Power décor that hung down from the roof.
The room was filled with flower garlands, giant peace signs and psychedelic colours.
Flower Power attracts a more mature crowd. I watched couples and friends reminiscing over bygone eras as they sang into each others' faces at the top of their voices and spun each other round in a jive.
The regular DJ booth was covered and instead, the sequinned dancers made it their home. Opposite, the DJ booth was fashioned on top of a drum kit. This is where you could find a 1960s-dressed DJ Victor Nebot hitting us with the very best tunes from the good old days.
The classic sounds of The Ronettes's Be My Baby and The Supremes's Stop! In The Name Of Love both filled the air and dance floor.
Every so often, Victor would throw in something more modern. Duffy's Mercy brought everyone back to the 21st century.
But soon enough we were back on a trip down memory lane and people were boogying to Dance, Dance, Dance by Chic and the timeless Chains Of Fools by Aretha Franklin.
The good vibes continued onto the roof terrace where you could find plenty of photo opportunities - dressing up with wigs and taking pictures inside a VW camper van.
The bohemian chic decor of the roof terrace was a perfect match for the hippy vibe of the evening.
Funkier vibes were had in the Funky Room / Pandora Room where Elements Beach Club was hosting the party.
Maricha and Kintar took a more modern take on the evening by mixing old tracks with some newer house beats.
Here we heard the Dennis Ferrer remix of The Cure & The Cause by Fish Go Deep and It's So Easy - The Remixes (Kiki Navarro Ocho Remix) by DJ Spen & The Muthafunkaz.
The packed out Pandora Room had a much more upbeat feel. It added an element of choice to the night perfectly by staying current for anyone wanting to return to present times. This was typically where the younger crowd gathered.
Everyone should experience the throwback wonders of Flower Power at least once. The party is perfect for all ages.
This season, you can do just that on Wednesdays from 29 May to 2 October. See below for more details and tickets
